Muttonbird, 2001. In December of 2000 a series of strong stoms killed off 2/3 of the estimated 400,000 Muttonbirds living along the coast of SE Australia. Multitudes were washed ashore where the sun and salt dehydrated their partially decomposed bodies. Carcasses were collected, dipped in clay slip, partially wrapped them in slip-soaked cloth, placed them on stoneare trays, and fired them to 1970F/ 1077C (Cone 04).SOLD.
